This Week in #Health #Tech #Design by @CalamineDesign - Daylighting the most intriguing news, tools and resources for startups and product designers in healthcare.

The Numbers Are In!
And, according to Rock Health, the past year was in fact a banner year for funding, to the tune of nearly $6B. On the other hand, just a few days in and reports surfaced of Clover Health off to a rough start for 2018. Finally, with such a breakout year for consumer testing, why is Mayo Clinic signaling the end of D2C genetic testing
Not to worry, Mayo Clinic is actually recognizing a transition from initial D2C genetic tests (or a 1.0 version) to a more informative and insightful version 2.0 if you will. Kind of a big deal for an incumbent health system to recognize this level of change in the market. It also echoes a sentiment from Rock Health’s year end report.
…it’s clear that the early game has concluded and digital health is entering the “middle innings” as an investment sector. We’re at the end of the beginning of digital health.
So welcome to the big leagues digital health. Can’t wait to see what you come up with this year! 😎
