This Week in #Health #Tech #Design by @CalamineDesign - Daylighting the most intriguing news, tools and resources for startups and product designers in healthcare.

Last week, if you had told me you were designing an application that would encourage people to workout through gamification, I would interrupt you and when I was done laughing, I would kindly ask you to rethink your concept.  Yet, Pokémon Go has taken the world by storm this week. People are not only getting outside and walking around but some have even reported feeling better about their mental health issues by playing the game.
Engagement, activation, adherence; basically the holy grail of improving patient health are today being accomplished by a game not built for healthcare. In this issue, our goal was to simply highlight some of the more positive results Pokémon Go has produced as they relate to healthcare. Perhaps it will inspire you to create the “Pokémon Go for Healthcare” or at the very least cause you to rethink how we might all learn from this watershed event that has caused 20 million users in less than 10 days to get up and go for a walk.
For the record, the average Pokémon Go player spends roughly 43 minutes, walking about 2.2 miles.  Well, if there isn’t Pokémon egg on my face.  #CatchEmAll
